There is indeed a time of day to practice certain poses according to how you feel. In the morning, gentle stretches on all fours working with the flow of the breath will help warm up the spine and joints while giving you energy for the day to come. If you can practice for 10mins before breakfast, then this is ideal.
For standing and dynamic poses, perhaps pick a time of the day when you feel energised and would normally carry out house tasks or go for a walk.
In the evening, if you feel tired, take this opportunity to practice restorative postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation, visualisation and meditation, an ideal practice before bed time, as long as you had an early diner and your digestion is complete. Otherwise, take 30mins after you return from work at least one hour before diner.
