Laurence, can you recommend a stomach support for use during prenatal Yoga?

Stomach support or elasticated gains are recommended in Prenatal care for Expecting Mums suffering from Pelvic Girdle Pain whether Lower back, Hips, Sacrum or Symphysis Pubis. This is to  help stabilise the area and prevent too much mobility in the joints which may result in inflamation and discomfort. This is unavoidable from time to time during growth spurts, and the body generally adjusts within the course of a few days. However for some, the pain does not go away and the condition – rarely – can become worse during the course of the Pregnancy.

We do not recommend to use such elasticated support around the Pelvis during Yoga because it does not allow for good blood flow circulation. I prefer ajdusting poses to ensure that we keep the pelvis stable, teaching sound postural habits and breathing techniques to this end. In some cases, I would suggest to use a Yoga Belt around the Greater Trochanter (at top of thigh bones) to prevent the legs to spread any further than safe.
